Fabula Facilis: Oves Timidae et Pastor

Pastor gregem magnum habet
caprarum oviumque.
Pastor dicit,
"Vae mihi!
Grex meus quotidie lupi esca fit,
et sic diminutus est."
Congregat ergo oves et capras,
et longa oratione eos hortatur,
"Nolite lupum timere!
Vos estis numero plures,
et cornibus armatae estis,
sed lupus cornibus caret.
Debetis vos defendere,
unanimiter et auxilio mutuo,
ab lupi impetu et furore,
Ego promitto:
numquam vobis deero."
Eius verba oves et capras animant.
Oves et capra promittunt et iurant,
"Nos nequaquam lupo cedamus!"
Paulo post lupus adventat.
Valde timent et subito fugiunt;
pastoris verba nil efficiunt.
Tunc pastor secum dicit,
"Impossibile est mutare Naturam."
