Fabula Facilis: Asinus et Canis

Asinus esculenta messoribus in agro portat.
Huic occurrit herilis canis, et dicit,
"Tu panibus cibisque onustus es,
quorum ego mox particeps ero -
interim, dum per viam incedis,
tu ipse rubos comedis!"
Asinus ei respondet,
"Frustula et ossa ad te pertinent;
verum rubi quos ego comedo
sunt gratiores mihi
et magis meum palatum sapiunt
quam omnes carnes in macello
aut bellaria in pistorum officinis."

This story is based on 221. Asinus et Canis.
