Fabula Facilis: Milvus, Rex Electus

Pulli celebrant capitulum,
regem sibi eligere volentes.
Dicit pullus unus, aliis sapientior,
"Eligere oportet columbam,
quod columba est animal simplex:
nec laniat, nec laedit, nec devorat."
Faciunt sic.
Columba simplex inter pullos conversatur.
Tunc dicunt pulli,
"Rex noster nihil valet:
nec percutit,
nec laniat."
Dicunt alii,
"Deponamus eum!
Quem igitur eligemus?"
Dicunt ad invicem,
"Eligamus milvum!"
Factum est ita.
Milvus rex constitutus est,
et,
die uno,
rostro et unguibus
pullum unum laniat et devorat,
postea alium, et tertium.
Sic rex pravus pullorum populum affligit.
