Fabula Facilis: Canis Villaticus

Canes complures urbani
canem villaticum insequuntur
praecipiti cursu.
Ille fugit,
repugnare non audens.
Denique,
ad canes insequentes conversus,
ipse subsistit,
dentes quoque ostendens.
Canes urbani pariter subsistunt,
illi appropinquare non audentes.
Tunc imperator exercitūs,
qui ibi forte adest,
ad suos milites conversus, dicit,
"Commilitones,
hoc spectaculum nos admonet
ne fugiamus,
cum
sint pericula
maiora fugientibus
quam repugnantibus."
